Waste management and reduction have become critical issues for all municipalities and regional districts. With landfills nearing capacity, and transportation and other costs soaring, the reduction of solid waste has become a high priority.

The Process

The first step is to identify the source and volume of incoming waste. Incoming waste is sorted into categories in order to assess opportunities for waste reduction by recycling, composting, or diversion.
